Step 3: Create Your Fundraising Content and Materials

Overview

Now that you’ve built your fundraising team, the next step is to equip them.

This is where most organizations slow down.

The team is ready… but they don’t have what they need to act.

So everything keeps coming back to you.

This step fixes that.

Your goal here is simple:

Create all the content and materials your team needs so they can execute independently and consistently.

1: Identify the Content and Materials You Need

Start by going back to your fundraising strategy plan.

Look through your entire fundraising process and identify:

  • What needs to be said
  • What needs to be sent
  • What needs to be shared

At each stage.

List out all the content and materials required for execution.

Common Fundraising Content and Materials Include:

  • Donation landing / sales page
  • Outreach emails (for individuals, businesses, and grantors)
  • Email sequences to nurture prospects
  • Grant proposal templates
  • Corporate sponsorship proposal templates
  • Messaging scripts
  • Idea collection forms
  • Scheduling links
  • Email marketing platform setup
  • Grant research tools and platforms

Your list may vary depending on your strategy.

The goal is to make sure nothing is missing.

2: Create the Content Using Templates

Once you’ve identified what you need, the next step is to create them.

To make this easier, we’ve provided templates to guide you.

These templates will help you:

  • Structure your messaging
  • Create proposals
  • Draft outreach emails
  • Build your fundraising materials using AI

Go through each template and create your materials one by one.

Take your time to get this right.

This is what your team will use daily.

3: Organize Everything in One Place

Once your content and materials are ready, the next step is to organize them.

Create a central folder (Google Drive or similar) and upload everything.

This folder should include:

  • All templates
  • All finalized materials
  • Links and tools your team will use

Important: Make sure every member of your fundraising team has access to this folder.

They should be able to:

  • Find what they need
  • Use it immediately
  • Execute without waiting on you
